About the Authors

Judith Stern, MA, is an educational consultant in private practice in Rockville, Maryland specializing in working with children who have learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder, as well as with their parents and teachers. She also serves as Coordinator of Special Needs Services at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland. She is coeditor ofBRAKES: The Interactive Newsletter for Kids with ADD as well as coauthor of Putting on the Brakes and its companion “Putting on the Brakes” Activity Book.

Uzi Ben-Ami, PhD, is an education consultant in private practice in Rockville, Maryland. He has served as chief psychologist and clinical director in two child guidance clinics. Dr. Ben-Ami has worked extensively with children, parents, and schools as a certified school psychologist and a child and family therapist.
